A place built to make access feel closer.
At its February 2024 opening, Renaissance House announced a practical model connecting health access, neighborhood space, and local Black history.
Health access
Telemedicine access for up to 1,000 residents was announced with Teladoc Health, alongside free local prescription delivery through Society of St. Vincent de Paul North Texas.
Room to gather
The restored House includes a community kitchen, conference room, and office spaces for neighborhood residents and organizations.
History & education
The founders announced plans for student education, local Black-history programming, and an African American library.

A landmark public-health finding
Place has shaped health in 76104. Community can shape what comes next.
A 2019 UT Southwestern analysis, using Texas death records from 2005 through 2014, identified 76104 as having the state's shortest life expectancy. Renaissance House was created in direct response to that history of unequal access.

Jennifer Giddings Brooks and Marnese Elder acquired and restored the property with preservation at the center.
